One of the sections I found interesting was the section about low achievement in classrooms. I have always had a passion for working with the children that are at a disadvantage. This section helped explain the background and reasoning of where they come from and how to better understand students from this socioeconomic class. Another part I enjoyed was the paper. Although it was a lot to do in such a short amount of time, I learned a lot about my topic that opened my eyes to have cultures are so different and how some view students of a different ethnic background. By the way, my topic was related to the achievement gaps between minorities and whites. The third thing, was about compensatory education. I am from Warren County, right in between Vance and Halifax and I had no idea they raised their tax payers to help fund the schools, yet the schools never received it.
