Pan de Muerto

This delicious-looking bread is called Pan de Muerto, or "Bread of the Dead," it is made to put on altars to honor the dead and feed dead family members crossing over on Dia de los Muertos.

Yesterday I was walking around a festive for the Day of the Dead. I found these pretty flowers and wanted to know what they had to do with the Day of the Dead. They have a strong scent so they guide the spirits around the house.

Sugar Skulls (Calaveras de Azucar)

While walking around the festival, I came across calaveras de azucar which I later found out translates to sugar skulls. I was very interested to learn more about this so I found out they Sugar skulls represent a departed soul, to honor the return of a particular spirit.

Mariposa Butterfly

The other day I took a beautiful picture of this butterfly, these animals are so cool. I was curious what it was and it was a Mariposa with is relevant in the Hispanic culture. They are beloved to be the spirts of loved ones.

Day of the Dead Cemetary

This year, I participated in the Day of the Dead Cemetary! It was really fun and my family and I enjoyed it a lot. We got to dress up to reconnect with my deceased family members which was cool.
