Why should student athletes be paid, because they are athletes and make money for the school. This is important as sports can cause long time injuries and the athletes are risking their livelihood every time they step onto a field. The amount of money the colleges make is as large as a mansion. They should be given a part of the revenue, like jersey sales.

The other main issue is that sports are a time commitment some of which are bigger than life it seems. This time commitment can stop student-athletes from getting a job and earning money. So one other way of helping these student-athletes is to discount things like books or dorms or parking. both of these can help all student-athletes no matter how good or bad they are.
