On our first day we deconstructed TV adverts and wrote down things like what style they were, their target audience and the narrative. Then we created mood boards about our adverts and used screen grabs to add images

We were placed into groups to plan a 20-30 second advert that we will film later. At first our group was not very good at communicating to one another and we had difficulty coming up with ideas. We did agree on doing an advert for running shoes and began looking at existing TV adverts for running shoes.

Our group was better at talking to one another and we agreed on the details to our advert. We all wrote our own synopsis and we drew our storyboard.

After finishing the storyboard, script and questionnaire, the next step is to start filming

and get used to the cameras and equipment. Our group could still communicate better, when we have group discussions some of us get distracted and when we go to our computers we stop talking, except to the person next to us. We should discuss what we are doing individually more as a group.

Looking forward to start filming and having the equipment. Some people in the group are often late so can't start until they get here. We are going to finalise our idea and then start filming after lunch.

The group has been split in two, I am now working just with Jo. We are going to have to change the plan for the advert, but it will still be for shoes. We have a lot of work to do; filming and editing almost an entire advert, or at least most of it done today

Today I plan to finish off the editing for our advert. We have all of the footage we need but it is 7 minutes long and the advert is only supposed to be 20-30 seconds. Also we plan to add some music.

Today now that we have finished filming and editing our advert, Joe and I need to create a questionnaire and ask people for their opinions about our advert. Also we need to self evaluate what we have done, and then put the audience feedback and the self assessment into Padlet.

finished animation, cut out the first half because it would have taken far too long. Pallet has deleted a few of my pictures and wouldn't upload any for most of the afternoon. Tomorrow I think I will be doing more research into animators and their techniques. I am pleased with the results, we had to film it twice because the first time went wrong, but am a little tired and glad it's over.

today I am doing research into more animation. We are doing a stencil animation that must be at least 10 seconds.

Today we are going to start the filming for a stencil animation and hopefully Finnish it as well. The animation is nature, with hummingbirds finding the perfect flower. It might take a little while to film but as long as joe and I work together it should go well.

The tv ident is finished, I am satisfied with the end results, but I feel that I did most of the work, I came up with the idea, I printed and cut out most of the stencils and when animating I moved all of the pieces and commented on how we were doing but joe sat there in silence and pressed the button to take the picture. Next time I am working on my own or with someone's else.

today we are going to be using the cameras and looking into composite like framing and rule of thirds. also aperture, how much light a camera lets in. perhaps also doing another documentary report or looking into photographic essays. we will have todo our own essay, I'm not sure what mine will be, my favourite type of photography is nature, but i may have to do something else, because we are only in the college there is not a lot of things to take pictures of. we have work experience week coming up, i have no connections so am worried about where i will go for this, i have never done this before so i don't really know what to expect.

i have already done 5 documentary reports, so am running out of ideas about what to do next. i have covered hard hitting ones and more light hatred. also there was a more nature/culture documentary, and also i am a bit bore of doing them and would like to move on to something else. with the photography that we are doing i am working with joe again, swell as charlie, and am having the same frustrations, i have to tell joe what to do and have had very little ideas coming from him. charlie is better he was a little shy at first, but we hadn't even spoken before so i was ok with that, now he is a little but more outspoken.

when we were doing our latest photo shoot, we ran into a few problems. first the cameras are a bit rubbish, it would blur and we could get the pictures we wanted clearly. a number of pictures are now unusable. another was little things around in the pictures, like a chair or wiring. some of the short depth of field were the better ones from yesterday, we couldn't find many things for the short depth of field. because it was raining today we were a little bit limited not being able to go outside.
