However, in the beginning of the book, the timeline is not set. You can tell this because it goes from age 10 to newborn to six, etc. The graphic novel itself is black and white, and usually has about eight panels per page. I believe that the way that she organized it made it more impactful, but also made it a little harder to understand because all the pages were in black and white. Like me.” (Satrapi 132). This is talking about the group called Guardians of the Revolution. They were harassing Satrapi for wearing things that they consider unfitting for a 'good muslim girl'.
