- 1 in 5 teachers have received abuse aimed at them on social media and online forums from parents and pupils.
- A majority of teachers who received online abuse did not report it to their employers or police, because they did not think it would be taken seriously.
Of teachers who did report it to school management, 40% said no action was taken against pupils;55% said no action was taken against parents. 
Where abuse was reported to the police, more than three-quarters said no action was taken against pupils or parents.
