A stereotype is an idea people have of a certain group of people. An example of a stereotype is that all black people like watermelon, or that Asian people are slow drivers. We stereotype because people just like to assume things of others instead of get the facts

A stereotype is an image people have about specific groups of people.
An example of a stereotype is a gender stereotype such as saying that only boys play sports or saying that only girls like the color pink.
People stereotype because these assumptions have been popularized /normalized by society so most people just assume these kind of things because of what they are told or what they hear from others.

A stereotype is a particular group of people used to define themselves. An example of a stereotype is that a lot of people stereotype people on how they look. I believe people stereotype because they want to create assumptions and make it true even if it is not.

What is a stereotype?
A stereotype is when a person has a false idea or perspective on a certain group of people or things. An example of a stereotype is thinking that all people of the Asian descent are good at math and love school.

Why do we stereotype?
People stereotype because it helps make sense of the world. They are a form of categorization that helps to simply information. They can help us identify and predict certain things.
