         <description><![CDATA[<div>there are 3 main layers that most people know. that is the crust mantle and core. the core has a outer and inner core tho. the core is the most hottest part of the earths layers and is made of things like iron and nickel. There is also the lithosphere and asthenosphere. the lithosphere is the outermost layer on the top of earth. its made of all the rock and soil on the floor and is part of the crust. the asthenosphere is under the lithosphere and is like the upper mantle. it is made of rock that is kind of soft but mostly solid. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>in 1912 Alfred wegener put out his idea he called continental drift. evidence that helped his theory was things like paleomagnetism and sea floor spreading. Apparent polar wander paths was the first thing that proved continental drift. sea floor spreading is different. this helped prove the theory cause they found fossils in some places where they should be in other places across the world. this proves that the land was once together but then split apart. in continental drift  the plates slide on colide with each other and this makes volcanoes and earth quakes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are 3 plate boundaries. they are divergent, convergent, and transform plate boundaries. in divergent boundaries the plates move away from each other creating things life rift valleys and ocean ridges that lets magma come up and create new crust/land. in convergent boundaries the plates colide and make subduction zones and in this they make earth quakes. in transform boundaries plates slide past each other and this either makes ocean ridges or subduction zones.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>seafloor spreading can make things like new ocean floor through mid ocean ridges. magma comes up through these mid ocean ridges and makes new crust. mid ocean ridges are like under water mountains and form from when convection currents push up and thats when the magma comes in and makes new ocean floor. subduction zones are also parts of seafloor spreading. this is when to plates colide and one plate goes under the other and they slide against each other.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>topographic maps are 2-dimensional and they use lines and number to basically show the features of an area like how steep a slope is on a flat piece of paper. this map uses contour lines and a index with intervals. contour lines are on the topographic mp and basically is you stayed on one you would stay the same elevation but if you moved to another your elevation would change. if the contour lines are far from each other than its like a more flat slope but if the lines are getting close then its a steep slope and there are intervals on every other line to tell you the height. theres also a index to show you the value of more bolded contour lines.</div>]]></description>
