I'm from Sellia Marina, a seaside town in Calabria, where I work. After 27 years in Rome, where I studied, worked, and lived, I returned last year. Rome offered me many opportunities that I now wish to share with my students and colleagues. My goal is to open our school to the world, exposing students to diverse educational methodologies and cultural perspectives to support the internationalization of education.

I hold a degree in Languages with a specialization in translation, as well as a second degree in Pedagogy and Education. Additionally, I have both specializations in Inclusion and SEN (Special Educational Needs) and as support teacher, and in teaching Italian as a second language. I worked with both young students and adults and also train teachers in English, digital storytelling, and Italian language methodology. I have experienced teaching in primary school for years and currently I teach lower secondary students aged 11 to 13.

One of my main reasons for joining etwinning and Erasmus+ is to experience new cultures firsthand, broadening our horizons and deepening our understanding of diversity.

I love tennis and kayaking in my magnificent sea, both in summer and winter, and I have a great passion for traveling. I am always happy to meet new people and collaborate for mutual growth.

The Ending

"And so, the garden beneath—the place where darkness once covered everything—became a light for anyone who still believed in hope. It was no longer hidden or forgotten. It showed itself through the small choices people made: being kind, being gentle, and not giving up.

Kaan kept visiting the garden. Where Lia had brought warmth and comfort, Kaan brought sound—his laughter, his songs, and his quiet thoughts. The flowers around him started to sing softly, like they understood his feelings. He didn’t lead the garden like a leader. Instead, he listened carefully. And by listening, he helped the garden grow in new ways.

Time didn’t feel the same in this place. It was like a dream. Children from all over the world, even ones who had never heard of the garden, started to find their way to it. Sometimes they arrived in dreams, sometimes in daydreams, or by following a flower growing through a wall. Each one brought something special: a drawing, a song, a tear, or a question. And the garden accepted it all, turning sadness into new life and confusion into peace.

One day, the sky above began to change. Not with loud sounds or big storms—but with something stronger: quiet. The flowers above the ground, which had never cared before, started to bend gently, like they were listening. The garden below sent its roots upward, not to replace the world above, but to remind it how to care.

Where the two gardens met, something beautiful grew. Not above. Not below. But inside.

Even now, in the quiet moments between being awake and asleep, if you sit very still, you might hear the garden’s voice say: You are not lost. You are growing.

The garden beneath never closed, because it wasn’t just a place—it was a truth. A truth that Lia, Kaan, and all the children who found their way had planted deep in the heart of the world:
