Actually,never did I once consider being class president before(사실 나는 전에 반장이 되겠다는 것을 결코 한번도 고려 해 본 적이 없었다)

However,this year I started thinking about it because I want to do something to help me overcome my shyness(하지만 올해 그것에 대해 생각하기 시작했다 왜냐하면 나는 나의 수줍음을 극복하도록 도움을 줄 무언가를 하고 싶기 때문이다)

Therefore, I put my name on the list to run for class president(그러므로 나는 내 이름을 반장 선거에 출마할 명단에 올렸다)

Some of the other candidates are experienced and popular(다른 후보들 중

Many of my childhood memories are of eating and sharing food.

The story of Khadija, a girl in Bangladesh, shows how running water kept her in school.

Like many schools in Bangladesh, Khadija's school used to lack bathrooms with running water.

Hence, many boys and girls would relieve themselves in the fields close to school, which was quite embarrassing.

Nowadays, she looks forward to going to school, and she makes sure to attend every day.

Today, one of the major concerns around the world is the lack of clean water.

Hadjara, a 10-year-old girl, spends much of her time walking and waiting for water.

10살 소녀인 Hadjara는 물을 길으러 걸어가고 기다리는 데 많은 시간을 쓴다.

She gets up early four days a week to go collect water for her family.

그녀는 일주일에 4일 일찍 일어나 가족을 위해 물을 길으러 간다.

One day, Hadjara set out before dawn for a nearby spring, which is the closest water source to her home.

Getting there involves a dangerous climb down a 700-foot cliff.

Reporter: How does it feel to give an opportunity to the women you work with?

Avani: It's overwhelming. It's amazing to see their energy and passion.

Joining the project, they break stereotypes and take on new challenges.

Reporter: What do you think you've learned through all of this?

Avani: I've lived in this city all my life, and somehow I just assumed that the world I was living in was all there was in India.

Even though I would see the slums on my way to school, I never looked into them that much.

Things look different, however, when I care about people in need and try to come up with solutions for them.

그러나 제가 도움이 필요한 사람을 염려하고 그들을 위한 해결책들을 생각해 내려고 할 때 상황은 달라 보입니다.

리포터: 왜 여성들과 어린 소녀들에게 권한을 갖게 해주는 것이 중요하다고 생각합니까?

Avani: We're getting them to realize their potential and to realize they can do something big with their lives.

Our project is a really small step if you look at it from a worldly perspective.

But I think something small like this can help inspire a young generation to make a difference.

Reporter: What's one thing you know that you wish everybody knew?

Avani: I believe there really is something you can do to help people.

Don't just think, "I feel really bad, but what can I do?"
