Hello All!

There are many many ways that I plan to incorporate technology and videos in my classroom. One way that I plan to incorporate technology into my classroom is by utilizing apps, such as DreamBox and PebbleGo, in my class so that students can practice math skills and enhance their learning in core subjects, such as science and social studies. I would like to set aside time in my classroom's daily schedule for students to independently learn while using these apps. Another way that I plan to incorporate technology and videos in the classroom is by including videos from YouTube, Discovery Kids, and/or National Geographic Kids in science lessons to enhance my students' learning. One last way that I plan to incorporate technology into my classroom is by utilizing tablets to have my students participate in an interactive lesson and/or to have my students complete an assessment after a lesson.

Hello,

I can incorporate technology and videos in my future classroom by knowing in advance what I will be teaching throughout the school year. There are so many amazing sites that I have observed during observations in the classroom and from watching my children e-learn last year. I keep a log of them all. I have also saved the google doc that we all shared on because there are some I have not observed yet and want to look into them. I feel as you teach students new materials and follow it up with a reading, a video that reinforces it, hands on activities and an exit slip to see what they have learned helps the students so much. Last year when my girls were e-learning part of the year, I would pull up educational videos from YouTube to help my fourth grader at the time to understand better what was being taught. I was able to do it for english, math, social studies and science. This helped her so much!

Julie VerSteegh
