You can identify minerals by using their streak, hardness, luster, and especially their color. Sometimes, you need to use more than one type of way to figure out what type of minerals you have. These are just some ways that you can determine which mineral is which. There are also many different types of minerals that look identical, so you have to be careful when identifying mineral. There are many new minerals discovered everyday, that are new and they could be similar to other minerals that have already been discovered.

Luster is whether the mineral is earthy, waxy, shiny, or glittery. Hardness is whether is can be sctrached by a nail, finger nail, or other items. Streak is the leftover color of the mineral. This is how we can identify minerals.
