Property destruction or theft are examples of nonviolent crimes; nevertheless, no force or threat of action is used. They are also referred to as "property crimes". Nonviolent crimes include vandalism, car theft, and larceny. There are crimes that violate social norms and are against the law. While others crimes, are against the law but do not break social norms.

Infidelity

Although it is not illegal, most people consider cheating on a love partner in a monogamous relationship to be wrong. Depending on the beliefs of people, the person who cheats can experience social isolation that drives other acts of deviant behaviours due to lack of support.

Abuse

Abuse is characterized by one individual acting violently or harshly toward another. A person who intentionally inflicts pain or suffering on another is considered an abuser. Abuse can take many various forms, such as financial, emotional, physical, psychological, and verbal abuse. Abuse can violate social norms and not break social norms, it can break the law and not break the law. It can be either or depending on the situation.

Drug Use

The majority of people in society view many addictive behaviors as normal, even encouraged. Such as drinking or smoking in social settings. Alcoholism, underage drinking, and illegal drug use are considered acts deviance.

Social Justice

Deviance can promote societal change, which is a positive aspect. Society may deem social justice as deviant at first, but with enough drive and support, they can bring about change and have a positive outcome. Examples of this are protests, Rosa Parks not moving to the 'black section' of the bus, Martin Luther King Jr. March on Washington, etc.
