Beautiful city but very dirty due to a lack of public services

• Difficulty in communicating (didn't speak much French nor knew any Darija)

• Poor infrastructure and general lack of services (this is still true, but worth recognizing the differences between West and Eastern Morocco).

• The idea that there were a lot of things I wouldn't be able to find.

• Knowing that in the East (where I live) society is way more conservative and women are treated differently.

Found:

• People are incredibly friendly and always ready to help, despite the language barrier;

• Western Morocco feels like being in Europe, you can literally find everything you need.

• Women are clearly treated differently, so no shock there, but experiencing it is another level.

• Pollution is stronger than I expected. There is no environmental education or awareness.

Expectations regarding food: Moroccan cuisine is very good, and it's true, we really eat well.
