         <title>In my opinion, I think the simultaneous rise in sectionalism and nationalism during the 1800’s eventually lead to the Civil War because of all the disagreements about slavery. The North was very anti-slavery, while the South was pro-slavery. I think that since they both had very different view-points on slavery, it eventually led to the Civil War. The sectionalism mainly sparked the war because it played a key role to creating the Southern social life. Also, slavery only affected a very small percent of the southerners.</title>
