Atatürk’ün Samsun’a ayak bastığı tarih olan 19 Mayıs aynı zamanda “Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı” olarak kutlanmaktadır. Atatürk Millî Mücadele sıralarında Türk milletini ileri götürecek olanların ve köhnemiş fikirlere karşı gelecek olanların genç fikirler olduğunu görmüştü. Bu nedenle de “gençlik” kavramı Atatürk için ayrı bir önem taşımaktadır. Atatürk gençlerden sık sık bahsederken, yaş sınırı dışında fikri olarak gençliği yani, fikirde yeniliği ifade etmiştir. O'nun İzinde eTwinning Projesi birbirinden yetenekli çok değerli öğretmenlerle bir araya gelmeme vesile olmuştur. Bana matematik öğretmeni olduğum için derslerin sıkıcı ve yoğun olmasını çok kafama takmamam gerektiğini insanın isterse öğrencilerinin gözlerini ışıl ışıl eden çok güzel çalışmalar yapabileceğini öğretmiştir. Öğrencilerimin severek çalıştığı bir projedir. Öğrencilerim teknolojiyi kullanarak harika çalışmalar yapmışlardır. Şiirler yazdığımız, şarkılar söylediğimiz, marşlar çalıştığımız, Atatürk'ün hayatını, ilkelerini, inkılaplarını, özlü sözlerini, çocuk sevgisini, kişilik özelliklerini, bilim teknik anlayışını araştırıp okuyup anlamaya çalıştığımız bu projede bulunmaktan dolayı ben ve öğrencilerim çok mutluyuz.
