         <title>What is the American Dream?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The American Dream is a dream that only applies to certain groups of people. It applies to the groups that will work hard, be dedicated, have motivation, and have a want to be successful. The original definition of the American Dream was founded by James Truslow Adams, he states, "the dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.” I believe that this can still be the case&nbsp;because America is still a land of opportunity. People need to realize that living the American Dream doesn't mean to become famous on some kind of social media platform, but to actually go out and pursue something that could make the world a better place for not only them, but also for everyone around them. Therefore, I believe that the American Dream only applies to the people that are willing to work hard and be dedicated to their dream. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In some people eyes, being able to live out a religion, belief, or faith is not an American Dream, but I believe that it is. Not many people are actually willing to step out and live out their faith. I find this to be such a big opportunity in America because in a lot of other countries people can't even have their own choice in their faith. They will kill if you believe in anything else or follow something that the country doesn't believe in which is really sad. This is why I believe that spreading the word of God to everyone I meet is one of my dreams. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I decided to interview my dad, Craig Hamilton. He is a senior pastor at Church Two42. He personally does not believe the american dream is still around. He claims that the phrase means nothing to him. The reason he believes that the American dream is not around is because people don't have an understanding of the scripture, who God is, and the creation of the world. He states, "Following Christ has opened doors that I would have never had opened without following Him. So the hope of just doing my best to glorify God, and just help the world till it has come to pass" -Craig Hamilton. He still believes that the united states is a "land of opportunity." This is why he does what he does. The final quote that my dad gave me reguarding my dreams is, "‘The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” Jeremiah 17:9-10 so don’t follow your heart, follow Jesus and do what he's asking you to do and you will get the rewards that you deserve.” &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>American Dream Song </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The song I choose to do is "man in the mirror" by Michael Jackson. This song is talking about how you have to change yourself in order to make a change in the world. The first verse shares, "I'm gonna make a change for once in my life it's gonna feel real good gonna make a difference gonna make it right." This verse defends my thesis because it is sharing that he is going to make a change, he is going to make a difference which means he is going to be dedicated to his dream. The chorus states, "I'm starting with the man in the mirror i'm asking him to change his ways and no message could've been any clearer if they wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself and then make a change." This chorus is basically just saying the same thing as the verse. He is telling people to look in the mirror and figure themselves out so that they can make a difference in the world and make it a better place. This song is basically sharing that you have to work hard and be willing to make sacrifices to make your American Dream happen. </div>]]></description>

All of these people have worked hard to get to where they are at in their career. They have been dedicated to their work and have become successful. She has lived her life and reached all of her goals even through all of the struggles that she has gone through. She is now an amazing writer and has an amazing career.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This article is sharing how the American Dream does apply to certain groups of people. The article states, "Based on the idealistic notions of a just nation, the American Dream defines success to the result of one's merit, the product of one's sacrifice, and not directly related to the inequalities of social privilege" (Marin). When reading this part in the article, it is really emphasizing that the American Dream is about how someone defines their success. It is about how they reach their goal, how they reach their dream. Another quote I found in this article is, "Therefore, it is un-American to think that socio-economic status shapes the lives of individuals and that hard work can be overshadowed by external factors" (Marin). I believe that this quote is 100% correct and that is an un-american way to think of life. The United states is a land of opportunity no matter what you look like, or who you are. I believe that if you work hard and are determined to achieve your goal, you can live out the American Dream. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Growing up I was always into sports and being athletic all of the time. I played piano growing up and really enjoyed it. I sang for fun here and there and really never thought about anything else. I eventually got pretty bad knees and had to stop doing my sport, so I started to be more involved in music and worship. I am now leading worship in the high school ministry at the church. As I get older, one of my dreams is to become a worship pastor and just spread the love of Jesus Christ. </div>]]></description>

I started researching possible jobs that I could do and I was talking with my mom about it as well. My mom started telling me about occupational therapy. Occupational therapy is a job that I can do to help people and on top of that, create a relationship with them. This I believe applies to the American dream because you have to go to a lot of schooling and hard work to become an Occupational Therapist. You have to be very dedicated and ready for success to make this job a reality. </div>]]></description>
