War is hell. No one likes any war. WW1 or WW2, everyone hates either one of them. But it wasnt always that way. War was looked upon as the "war to end wars." But as the war had progressed and ended the attitudes quickly changed and had become worse.

Families go heart broken and are left hopeless with feelings of disbelief. When soldiers don't return home grief and saddness stays. Even when soldiers return, PTSD follows. With PTSD saddness follows. Either way they're doomed. We know this from the soldiers their selves as we have many poems and songs like "red gum" to back us up. PTSD isn't the only problem, soldiers went into war not expecting what they saw.

"Red Gum" is a song created to show the devastating truth of the world war. The lyrics hightlight exactly my points. "And can you tell me, doctor, why i still can't sleep." this lyric is showing and telling us that they're going through PTSD and don't understand truely what it is. He also says "ANZAC legends didn't mention mud, blood and tears." This suggests that he wants to show the world theres a lot more to war than winning and that attitudes werent always negative. This states that people once entering war see that the war is anything but pretty.

My evidence shows my points are spot on right.People are left broken no matter what. PTSD shows a huge role in this with the underlying truth scraping at them with memories of gruesome. When the soldiers enter war they were under prepared, and "ANZAC legends didn't mention mud, blood and tears." is a perfect example of this.

in conclusion, attitudes have changed after the truth of the war was unravelled. The attitudes and values have also changed because no one realised war was so traumatic. The aftermath isnt just "I've won its over!" there's more to it, it's nightmares, flashbacks and havic and it's a lot more worse than you think. War is hell.

ANZAC day and Rememberance day are days for the soldiers, those who have passed and those who are alive. The soliders get praised and remebered on these days with reeves and 'minute of silence'. There is also a great poem called "love and war" that shows the heroic side of war. It's positive and one line says "Imagine an aged soldier, an elderly lover! A general looks for spirit in his brave soldiery" which shows that soldiers are highly looked upon and are great it is also defiantly positive.
