Students may wear a comfortable pants/shorts on Mondays for PE that is a similar colour to the uniform (dark navy/grey).

We ask all children wear the polo shirt and jumper/cardigan Monday to Friday inclusive.

Spare uniforms are available in school for anyone in need of one.

We will have specific days throughout the year called 'toy days' where the children can bring in their toys.

In addition to the primary school curriculum every school is also required to teach a religious or ethical programme which is aligned with the core beliefs and values of their patron body, Carriganima National School is a Catholic School and teaches the Grow in Love Programme.

​​While Carriganima National School is a school with Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition for all other religions and none. We welcome children from all cultures and we encourage learning about other traditions and faith.

They are allowed to bring a child sized treat on a Friday, however this is optional for families.

They are not allowed fizzy drinks, taytos, chewing gum or share packs.

Both school leaders are passionate about education, hold Masters' Degrees and have years of experience in leading teaching and learning in various school contexts. They are progressive leaders who centralise the wellbeing of the children in everything they do.

Ms Caoimhe Flannery is our new teacher, she has just come on board and we are delighted to be working with her this year.

Ms Michelle O Riordan will be covering Mrs Carey's Maternity leave this year. She will be staying in the junior classes and is a fantastic asset to our school team.

We have two fantastic SNA's on staff.

Mrs Kay McDonagh leads school promotion through various media and has attained awards for the development of the school website.

Mrs Deirdre Buckley's role is of dual importance as she utilises her expansive skill set to act as both SNA and school secretary.

We have a brilliant team who strive to cultivate a culture of wellbeing, positivity and productivity.

The original procedure has been around since 1993, and it has recently been updated to make improvements. This revised procedure came into effect on January 1, 2024. Parties to the agreement include the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO), the Catholic Primary Schools Management Association (CPSMA), the General Synod Board of Education of the Church of Ireland, Educate Together, An Fóras Pátrúnachta, Muslim Primary Education Board, and the National Association of Boards of Management in Special Education (NAMBSE).

The overall goal is to make it easier for parents to talk about concerns they have about their child in a fair and clear way. It’s all about helping parents and schools work together to solve issues quickly and in the best way possible for all involved.
