When athletes sign a contract they are also signing that they are aware physical conact is common in their sport and injuries can occur. If an athlete injures another athlete within the rules that sustain the sport then their should be no punishment or legal system involved. This "assualt" is not purposeful and is solely a result of competition and a hunger to win. However, when this assualt happens outside of the rules of the sport then the legal system should be involved. Athletes should be mature enough to handle situations well and play with integrity and respect.
