What advice can you give me to better prepare future teachers for the teaching profession?

*Teachers coming into the profession must keep in mind there is an importance for students to have transferable skills in unpredictable environments.
*We are in fast changing times where young people will have to adapt to current social needs/norms.
*Students should be book smart and posses skills that employers look for, these skill will be a means for general success in life.
*Teachers should be prepared to teach both academically and socially.

Challenges
*Students no longer just come to school, sit down and listen.
*Students will not automatically respect the teacher like in generations past.
*Teachers must work hard to build relationships.
*Students learn better or best from a teach they know cares for and likes them.
*Teachers have to make an effort to manage the classroom/students (manual vs automatic).


Rewards
*Knowing how challenging life can be for students academically and in their personal lives, being able to see how your influence can positively affect them in their--whole person--growth. 
*Making a difference is most rewarding.
*Teachers must keep in mind the rewards they receive as a teacher may not be immediate.
*Teachers should remain steadfast.
