RAP Prompt Framework

At Visions, we’re encouraging staff to use the RAP Framework to design strong prompts for AI:

Role → Assign the AI a role (ex: “You are a 9th grade English teacher…”)
Action → State the task clearly (ex: “Create a lesson plan on symbolism in Of Mice and Men …”)
Product → Define the output format (ex: “…in a 3-day lesson outline with discussion questions.”)

I've asked AI to make a fill-in-the-blank note page or outline of a LL lesson. I've also asked it to rewrite an LL lesson at a different reading level.

I've used the Brisk extension (for educators) extensively for my classroom to generate and evaluate student work.

Revision History (Chrome extension) is another great tool - it will play out a document's history so you can see copied and pasted chunks. Telling students to write all changes within the same doc every time helps, since there are the rare few who write in another place that copy and paste their actual work.
