Deliberate Practice

The presentation about deliberate practice found my thoughts at the exact moment in life. I understood something very important - you have to push yourself beyond your current limits inorder to improve yourself and become an expert. It is publicly known that "practice makes perfect", and yet I have never thought about making it intentional and more meaningful.
Life has not always allowed me to practice my expertise in a deliberate manner - and I guess now is the right time to start!

I really enjoyed learning today's brain tricks. It seems that I have been practicing these techniques all my life, even as a teenager, when I was tutoring my classmates.
I especially like the technique of using analogy and giving various examples. This makes teaching fun and much easier, and the students generally enjoy it. Thank you for your lesson.

I am quite excited to have our next sessions focused on memory. Memory has been researched for centuries, but still, I think there is a lot more to discover and learn, especially in the field of teaching. The most meaningful input I took from today's lesson, is that we should have our pupils practice free recall as a learning strategy, and not as a means of testing and grading. Thank you for the interesting lesson.
