- There is a growing recruitment of young boys in the Caribbean to play professional baseball just to take advantage of them.

- Many of these boys are given performance enhancing drugs, and had cuts taken out of their salary due to their youthful oblivion and use of manipulation by these recruiters. 

- These boys are also coming from families with disadvantages, which means that there is a greater chance of their abuse. Many of these parents do not understand what is going on, and have no means of seeing it.
