Instructions: a) read the responses you have been given. b) Give them a mark according to the marking criteria for EACH part. c) Justify your mark by writing a comment. Eg. Because of the lack of....I gave it a 9 OR the analysis of the students own techniques was effective and that's why I gave it a 10.

Imaginative - the student effectively and personally interperated his stimilus but did not use a variety of sentence structure and length. Although the sentences did not vary, the description of the scenes were vivid through the use of multiple figurative language devices. 19/20

Refection - there was direct reference to the imaginative response to effectively describe the techniques and devices used throughout the response. The student did not make any reference to his learning in Module C but did effectively expalined his crafting process and what stimulis' inspired him. 9/10

Imaginative: The student jumped around between each paragraph as if they were out of place. They do create a great sense of how this little girl felt when losing her mother in a foreign country. But it doesn’t really go inti much depth of where they are and how the city looks or how the people look around them just vague descriptions of the situation. The descriptions are very similar to each other, basically a whole paragraph is the same sentences re words to add depth but they really just give a new perspective but no real depth.

Their mark would be a 12/20 as it demonstrates a sound use of tense and the relationship between the character and setting is about nonexistent. They do show some competence of variety in their paragraphs and sentences but it is very limited.

They have a great use of figurative and descriptive language to convey the character but not much with the setting.

Reflection: They know well how the module works and what it encompasses to be a successful writer. But they do decide that their story is quite ‘plain’ they dont do a very indepth reflection but rather sound analysis of what they did. The work was great but their story was bland just all based to hook the reader in but then they did no actual work to keep them hooked just got to a point, stayed there and dropped.

I believe they deserve a 4/10 they didnt go too intense into their work but rather just stayed to the surface but they did give some reasons to their work and planning but no real purpose or specific examples.

Imaginative- The student has used time stamp in their imaginative piece. They used first person in the writing and the overall idea of grief was great. The student explain/ describe the idea of 'grief' really well and it is well structured. The student could improve their grammar and punctuation. Other than that, the response is really good.

I would give this response a 17/20.

Reflective- The student didn't explain much of the effects of each techniques. But, they wrote about how they achieve in the imaginative, explain some techniques they used in the reflection. 8/10

Imaginative- The student interpreted their stimulus well, it had a variety of figurative language techniques which was good. However the sentence structure and length did not vary. They described a desert setting well and i knew throughout the response the character is in a desert. However upon reading the response I found a weakness, i was a little bit confused at a point but upon reading the reflect i understood it more, i think the wording of paragraph could’ve been different, then they could’ve been more clear of tying to portray the character as hallucinating. 13/20

Reflection- the student has a sound understanding of the reflection rubric, they said what there goal was and what they were trying to do at the start of the reflection, they named techniques well however did not back them up with any analysis. Reading through i can tell what they were trying to say in their imaginative, i think they did a goof job at reflecting and for that I give them a 7/10

The student created a meaningful character and how the setting was able to enhance its effect on the audience, also used purposeful descriptive words. This imaginative respond expressed that the student was confident in their writing. 20/20

Reflection the student was able to really understand the structure of Module C and went into depth explaining the concept of the module. This student also went into great depth about their text and a related text ' The Pedestrian' showing the marker that they understand the stimulus. Also going in the connection of their character and using direct references from texts. 9/10

imaginative-the imaginative greatly connects character to setting staying in present tense consistently throughout the response. the student has used a wide variety of imaginative techniques such as similes and utilised varied sentence structure with a lot of descriptive language to connect character to scene and portray their narrative voice. 17/20

reflective- the students reflective does have a wide range of examples and but do not make any specific reference to the techniques within them. The reflective does effectively explain the crafting process but not the purpose of the plot. 6/10

Imaginative- the students used an array of discerning descriptive and figurative language devices using features of the form to convey setting and characters. The student also used variety of sentences structures and thoughtfully explored the relationship between the setting and the character. However it got confusing with the tense of the story and they didn't really use a personal interpretation to the stimulus. 14/20

reflection - The student successfully expressed how they came up with the idea of the story and used other texts to delve deeper in the idea. They also expressed how they incorporated feedback from drafts into their story .The reflection needed to be longer and describe the stylistic devices to employed to convey the setting and character. 7/10

Imaginative - the student has attempted to use flashback but not successfully. The description of the city was vivid, though this was mainly achieved via sensory description rather than figurative devices. The response is more of a literal interpretation, is very short and ends abruptly. 9/20

Reflection - there is some reference to the imaginative response, but mostly it lacked specific examples of analysis or evaluation. Where quotes from the imaginative response were included, they weren't analysed. The final paragraph is the most evaluative. This response is also short. 4/10
