Think about it: How many laws are presented each day in Washington to be voted on?

Would it be worth it to have a direct democracy in the US instead of rep. democracy? Why?

Venezuela: Dictator makes all decisions. The President says one thing but does another.

Afghanistan: Bin Laden/attacks on US. Taliban took over. Government changes, fighting a Holy War that has turned into a civil war. Gov is threatened and is not a democracy.

Myanmar: one ruler, overthrown by the people. Military rule/controls government.

China: communist-leader is rich and has complete control. Control how many children can be born to a family.

South Africa: Parliamentary democracy-Apartheid. Nelson Mandela helped create a democracy.

Libya: dictatorship--military take over-broke government

Mexico: 3 parties instead of 2. Leader of the party has a lot of power. Majority rules.
