1) Yolanda did wrong because she not check what students already know in begin. She skip pretest, so she don’t see the gaps. She also just look at computer scores after lesson, not during class, so she can’t fix mistake right away. She think old lesson plan will work same for new group, but students are different.

If I was teacher I will first do small pretest to see what they know about money. I will ask questions in class and watch how they use coins. I will give feedback right away, not wait until homework or computer result. I also will change lesson plan if I see students confuse, not just follow last year plan.

Ms. Yolanda’s main mistake was treating formative tasks as record-keeping instead of using them to adjust her instruction in real time. To fix this, I had make formative assessment immediate, adaptive, and closely tied to clear learning goals while differentiating for student needs.

1) Yolanda didn't monitor student performance while students completed their work. She should provide immediate, specific feedback to students.

2)She gave a review problem each day; but, she looked at the results only after math class. Yolanda should instead create a system in her class that allows her to work with students on the review problem, immediately determine student skills, mastery and provide feedback.

The last activity:
Do: Use Homework, In-class assignments, Quizzes as formative assessment to monitor student understanding and provide timely, constructive feedback to guide improvement. Encourage student reflection via asking students to review their mistakes and write what they learned from them. And also use differentiation based on results.

Don’t: Use them only for grading or judgment without giving students a chance to learn from their mistakes. Using homework or quizzes for punishment, making tasks too difficult or unrelated to instruction. Ignoring the results, and comparing students publicly or use results competitively.
