My intended audience are librarians or teachers who work with children between early preschool years and late elementary, because Caldecott picture books generally appeal to those age ranges. Some are more appropriate for younger or older children within those ranges, or could be used in different ways for different age groups.

I chose this topic because I wanted to explore some newer Caldecott winners. I had trouble finding some at my library or on Overdrive, but I ended up including some of the winners and nominees in my lesson plans this week!

I plan to teach children directly about different award programs in library lessons. I saw a lot of opportunities with these book to team teach with the art teacher on different illustration styles.
