When starting up a company, many entrepreneurs sacrifice time with their families and loved ones in exchange for extra effort put into their brand/company.
In Martha Stewart's case, her sudden fame from her cooking caused her and her husband to get a divorce.
In many cases, if you don't gain success immediately, you'll be living on an unsteady pay-check as you are technically not fully employed. Unless your company is fortunate enough to take off soon after it is started, you will need to invest alot of your own spendings, time and effort into turning it into a successful brand.

In becoming an entrepreneur, you gain freedom and control over your work. You're able to mould your job around your own objectives and ideals.
You also gain control over your working hours (although most entrepreneurs start out spending more time with their companies than with family/friends because it takes a lot of effort)
The amount of effort that you invest into your brand most often results in a fair/equal amount of reward in the long run.
