Including team work which we definitely needed in order to complete our final piece, time management, decision making, collaborating with other group members for voice-overs, working under pressure and taking control of my own learning.

So from our prelim video, if it's not too obvious, the prop is the Arsenal flag that Levi's holding. The random location we were given is the tube, hence why we included in the sound of a tube departing.

In terms of storyboard, we didn't have a detailed / planned one, we didn't write much ideas down considering we just spoke out from whatever came to mind. Furthermore, in terms of location, prop planning and research not much was done and instead the prelim was filmed in a small classroom with chairs arranged to make it seem like a tube. At this time, working as a group we barely knew each other and we had no idea how each of us would work together.

There was also a lack of research, considering we had no titles or had even decided what our genre was.

Title Sequence - 
Coming up with ideas was extremely different from how it was during the prelim. In our group we had only known each other for a short while, but considering we all did the blog post regarding ideas we had, we sort of mashed them together to create the final piece. 

This time around, we produced a full storyboard, including the shots we intended to take. 

For location and prop planning, we produced tons of research into our blog posts. Kyle was in charge of our locations while Esther was in charge of our props. When the time came near to filming, we changed certain locations, so Canary Whalf's shots was changed to London Bridge. The props we used fit the social group of teenagers partying -- i.e. red cups, glasses, alcohol bottles (only we used fake alcohol bottles and kool-aid for the drink)

For research into genre and titles, I was in charge of titles. We looked at many kinds of thriller movies and the fonts they used which suited the film. In the end we went with 
"1942 Report" from dafont.com while research for genre we done that as a whole group. We researched into multiple genres such as horrors, comedies, romances, but we thought with our combined idea, thriller would be best.]]> 2017-02-03 02:25:51 UTC https://padlet.com/feliciamillseh/lcgruo6q31z8/wish/151338161 feliciamillseh https://padlet.com/feliciamillseh/lcgruo6q31z8/wish/151338246 Prelim: The camerawork in our Prelim wasn't exactly as great as our final piece. The shots are quite limited and doesn't show much to help out the narrative. But when filming for the prelim, we were informed about the 180 degree rule, meaning we had to stay on one side to film. Comparing a few of the shots, mainly in our prelim there were tons of close ups, whereas in the final piece it ranged from long shots to mid shots as well as close ups.

The sound in our prelim was rather rushed as there wasn't much time to focus on the piece and edit carefully. We found a non-copyright version of a tube departing online and used that in the sequence. Editing the prelim lacked the amount of goodness as there is in the final piece as we just fit the clips in together, did no colour grading, or include title credits to present the cast, etc.

Title Sequence: The camerawork in our final piece was exactly the kind of ideas we all had in our group. The ranged shots we have fit perfectly towards the idea of teenagers running away from something dangerous. My favourite shot from the final piece would have to be the second to last one, where all viewers can see is feet running past the camera while the directors name - myself - fades in.

Originally the lighting of our final piece was rather dark, it was quite difficult to see some characters, but as we added the clips into our Premiere Pro piece I was then able to increase the brightness, thus preventing the need for us to re-film. The sound originally also didn't have a spooky enough vibe to it, so we used Adobe Audition and added in an echo effect to give off the effect that Iqra (our main character) was remembering the situation and telling it like a story. 

The editing of our final piece was mainly on Premiere Pro. However, we did use other programs by Adobe such as After Effect and Adobe Audition. Even though the majority of the titles was created on Premiere Pro, the main title 'Realisation' was created on After Effects. We then used a preset under 3D text animations to present it the way it is in the final piece. Unlike the prelim which has no title credits at all, the title credits you see within the final piece were created on Premiere Pro and with an effect it allowed us to have them fade in and out when presenting our cast and crew. But in comparison to the prelim which has no colour grading, colour grading was actually fairly simple. We decided to colour grade our piece as some of the shots either had a warmer tone or a cooler tone. Within this project, I also used Adobe Audition for the first time, so I believe that'll benefit me for when I create projects of my own or in media lessons.
