Hermann's Tortoise: What do they eat? They eat leafy greens and grasses, supplemented with a variety of other vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, carrots, etc.) and fruits (apples, apricots, grapes, melons, peaches, strawberries etc.) in smaller quantities. In the wild, they will take some insects, slugs, and carrion, but feeding of these is not necessary and too much animal protein is harmful.

How do tortoises lay eggs? How long does it take until they hatch
The female tortoise creates a nest for laying her egg. She digs a nest on a slope of soft soil. How long it takes depends to a great extent on the temperature at which the eggs are incubated. It takes between 8-11 weeks is about average for most species. The lower the temperature, the longer it takes.
