Liam starts getting changed into board shorts. He grabs his sunnies and car keys, gets into his car and drives along the coast to Port Noarlunga jetty. Looking out to the coast line, he gets increasingly nervous. He parks, takes a deep breath then gets out. Walking towards the jetty, the sound of the beach noises, waves crashing can be heard, he stops, turns and sits on the beach, watching waves roll in. Not today, he whispered. He sits for a while before getting up and kicks the sand in frustration. Walking back to his car, he sighs, opens the car door and drives back home. 

The scene transitions to early morning shots of the beach and port Noarlunga jetty. Slight waves can be heard, and seagulls in the background. It cuts to Liam putting his boardshorts on, walking to the car and driving along the coast back to port Noarlunga jetty. He parks the car, gets out and walks towards the jetty. Walking along the jetty slowly, he looks out over the edge, then continues to walk. At the end, he looks over the edge, down at the water. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. His phone buzzes and Liam open his eyes, surprised. He grabs his phone, sees the text from his mate, and reads it. How’s the jumping going mate?  Not good today he replies. With crossed arms, feeling defeated he walks along the jetty, back into his car and drives home along the coast. 

The next scene is of a car, cruising along the esplanade, upbeat music plays from the car. It cuts to Liam’s face, happy, looking determined. The car pulls into the same spot as the last two days. Liam gets out the car, power walks up the jetty, looking ready. Determined music builds in the background. Liam starts to run along the jetty and then leaps off the end. He gets engulfed by water and sounds are muffled under water. Liam looks around underwater, he looks up and swims to the surface. His head bobs up and down in the water. Looking around, Liam smiles and starts swimming back to the ladder of the jetty. 

At the top of the jetty, Liam stands tall and looks out over the ocean. He laughs and smiles to himself. The scene cuts to soft music, with Liam’s back facing the end of the jetty, he turns to give a quick glance at the spot he just jumped from and turns facing forward smiling. He gets into his car and sits, sighs in relief, then looks at his phone.  A message from Emma appears on the screen, asking if he is still coming tomorrow to jetty jump with her and her friends. He smiles at his phone, replies “definitely with a smiley face emoji”. He places his phone down, turns on the car, and as upbeat music comes on the speakers, he drives off down the coast, into the distance.
