This is when Christianity started to spread. Christ's mission was 'to go and make disciples of all nations' and he had a promise, ' I am with you always.' The gospel of Christ was preached to all nations.

Though during the Beginnings, a question about religion was pondered upon. Did the gentiles need to follow Judaism? Many concerns were raised. The Council of Jerusalem debated on this topic. Finally, they declared that Christianity is not just a form of Judaism, and that the Gospel was not just for the Jews but for all people.

What comes to mind when we hear the word Roman Empire? Well we know for a fact that there was the 'Pax Romana' meaning Roman Peace. This gave people security and relief in travelling long distances due to the long roads the Romans have built. This made Christianity spread even more! It was very easy to travel from one place to another. Another event that happened during the Roman Empire was the Cultural Unity. People established Greek Culture and Language which made people communicate easily with one another. The spread of Christianity grew even more because of clear communication. The Spiritual Hunger also took place during this period as well. People had a need to listen to the Gospel because they felt that they were lacking something. They set a good example of Christ in this period

Though, there were threats in the spread of Christianity.
-People had false beliefs of other Gods
- There were false teachings leading to confusion
-The Roman Government thought of Christianity as a threat to their security.

The Christians needed to hide because the Roman Empire government thought the people had a belief that God's eyes saw equality among them. The government thought that this may weaken the government's state of authority and public morality. They were thought of as cannibals because they ate 'the body of Christ' and people of incest because of calling one another 'brothers and sisters'

Many things happened during the Medieval Period. This was when the Fall of Room took place. It was then end of the Roman Empire. Charlemagne, the king of the Franks, converted all of his people to Christianity. Monasticism made people isolate themselves under religious vows. This helped spread Christianity through monasteries. The Great Schism of 1054 took place. There was a division among the Christian, the Roman Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox people because of various religious disagreements and political conflicts. There was also the Gregorian Reform, a series of legislative reforms.

The Crusades caused a lot lives The Christians tried to retake the holy land, Jerusalem from the Muslim control. Inquisitions happened. The church wanted to fight the heresy because of conflicting beliefs from the church. The centralization of the Church happened during the Avignon Papacy. The papal court and courtesy was created, and the church became rich because of the taxes and indulgence. Western Schism happened too. It was a a split between the Roman Catholic Church. Mendicant orders helped in converting people to Christianity, the mendicant friars were in poverty and lived the way Christ did, travelling and spreading the word of God.
