Functional Lighting is to make sure that objects and background settings can be seen. In The Frozen Ground functional lighting is used naturally so you can see the settings around, they also use artificial lighting so you can see the actors. In Cold Water they use a lot of natural lighting e.g the sun, fire and flairs.

Artistic lighting is used in both of the clips they used orange lights in Justin Bieber to create a warm effect in the fire and in The Frozen Ground they  use a blue filter  to make the setting seem dull and sinister. 

The Ambiance used in the both of them goes from during the day to the night.

The genre of Justin Bieber is pop and the lighting is linked with the genre being pop, so flashy lights and bright lights coming up from a little to a lot in short timing. The Genre of Frozen ground is Thriller so the lighting fits in because the low key lighting builds tension and making he scene seem more mysterious and sinister. 

In Frozen Ground its set in the winter so the lighting they use makes a dull and cold effect this is important because it represents the fictional city as being miserable, depressing and an isolating place to live. this is also important because the character Robert Hansen is portrayed as someone people can trust the scenes of when hes indoors the lights makes the scenes more inviting. In Cold Water the set times are during the day and deep into the night, 

]]> 2016-09-23 13:04:55 UTC https://padlet.com/elaacir1/lca6y8eye8h2/wish/125994225 elaacir1 https://padlet.com/elaacir1/lca6y8eye8h2/wish/127496275 the orange lights in cold water are created by orange gels over the main light source to create a warm orange glow in the scene. for sunlight in this music video they could of used natural lighting or used an extra light on set in replace of the sun to make it seem brighter then it is. during the evening scene they use low key lighting this is created by using only a few light sources that might be dimly lit to create shadows.  Through out the video it cuts to lighting that comes from the fire witch is natural lighting. 

In the Justin Bieber music video the lighting they use for the back ground is dim and grey to give the effect that the surroundings is cold and dull so when the sun starts to set the colours get brighter and then when its pitch black they start using flairs to make the scene seems warm. They have chosen the cold and dim effects for day time because it fits the title of "Cold Water". they have used this type of lighting so the audience can see how cold it looks and feel the same way and they when it gets darker and the flairs and fire gets going to seems warmer and happier so it makes the audience feel cold and dull to happy and warm. 

 In The Frozen Ground the lighting that is used is similar to the lighting at the beginning of Justin Biebers Cold Water music video is dull and grey but in this trailer its too set the scene of a murder and that lighting will make the audience feel on edge and curious of whats going to happen in the film. ]]> 2016-09-30 12:18:33 UTC https://padlet.com/elaacir1/lca6y8eye8h2/wish/127496275
