As the same could be said of someone whom I would consider a "modern day" philosopher, Paul "Sonny" Sandoval, the lead singer of the Christian Rock band P.O.D. (Payable On Death). Through his lyrics to such songs "Youth of the Nation", "Will You" and "Murdered Love", I can come to the conclusion that Sonny was and is a man that has not only had to live a life full of questioning and answering things, but testing them out through his faith in God, God's love and in people to see them true, trust-worthy and come to fruition. Well, before answering that, we must first know and understand exactly what IS the "American Dream." And as defined by Google it says, "The ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative." Seeing as how it really doesn't mention anything about owning land, your own home, car, expensive jewelry or lots of money, it does at least let you know about one very important thing, "an equal opportunity." For you see, people can always achieve success one way or another or at least what they perceive as success, but whether it was "equally" obtained or not is a whole different thing. In the US, a person can have the opportunity to go from nothing to becoming the President of the United States. But can the same be said outside of the US? I do not believe so. Sure, other countries may have the appearance of "freedom" for their citizens, but are they truly free? Can they really become anything they want to be? If not and if they cannot achieve "success and prosperity" in relation to the normal "standard" relative to the area or country they live in, then no they can't achieve the "American Dream." An example of this would be in places such as China or North Korea where people do not have the freedom to truly be whatever they want, do what want and hence forth achieve the proper level of success and prosperity that can be achieved. Barely living hand-to-mouth and being alive does not really count either. So in conclusion, do I really believe that anyone else can achieve the "American Dream" outside of the US? Such as for instance Question 2, not that it's a bad question, but I believe it to be more irrelevant than something actually needed. By that I mean why? Why is it even necessary to have that question on the form to begin with? Does know what kind of house or place they reside at and how it's paid for do anything in helping total the amount of people for the census? Eiither way, for example what if whatever individual(s) don't live in a house, apartment, mobile home or anything else? What if they lived out on the streets? And what if wasn't just the one person but an entire small family? Would that then be to say that they don't count whatsoever in the United States' annual census count? No. Instead there should be some kind of separate form or question for the homeless. Something such as, "If you do not have any physical home location or address to which you reside, how many people are you?" The only other problematic thing I could see people nowadays throwing a fit over is Question 5, about the "Male/Female" options... only. For unfortunately nowadays, people no longer only identify as male or female, but as all sorts of weird things. "Though I look like (either male or female) on the outside, I TRULY only identify with being a (name some sort of weird thing, such as being a human that's neither male or female, an alien, monster, creature, animal or any other random thing)." Which to me is just stupid, but that's a whole different topic. We now live in a world and society of wanting everything here and now if not even faster like there and then. So for example, on billboards, in magazines, on tv or anywhere else you'll see male and female models who are buff and ripped, chiseled 8-packs with dark tans, with tons of money and just oozing sex appeal while using/consuming whatever product that of course made them the way they are over night. The sad thing is though, isn't that we can't see that it's a blatant lie, because we KNOW that it is, but more so that people still consciously choose to believe the lie. Why? I don't know, maybe just hoping for the best regardless of knowing it won't turn them in to what see and therefore invision over night. The dangerous part comes in, when people with low self-esteem, too high of standards for themselves or secret depression see these things and buy them/buy into it only to (once again) have their hearts broken. Majority of people can only handle that for so long before they go off and do something they'll regret later. When the Romans first came across it, thy immediately realized just how awesome useful the arch really is! From spanning over water as bridges, to places to walk through like archways, to using it via bridges to transport water, the Romans made quick work of their use of the arch. And here we are 1000's of years later STILL using it and improving upon it such as spanning MASSIVE spans with the support of steel in our modern bridges to incorporating it into our modern architecture in houses, buildings and even restaurants. Ever depending upon its strength and versatility we are always ever thankful to the Romans for the arch. But the differences then come in that whereas the Medieval Cathedral starts off big and gets smaller, the Hindu Temple does the opposite, going from smaller to bigger. Other similarities in their form is that both of them are adorned with artwork. And I mean that in various different ways, pictures, sculptures, etc. The main difference again between the two is that the Hindu Temple has a lot of their sculptures, that also tells a story just like the Medieval Cathedral, on the outside of their Temple instead of the inside. That and all the sculptures on the Hindu Temple are naked whereas the opposite can be said for the Medieval Cathedral. Now as for both of their functions? Both of them were similar in that they were/are both places of worship and to get closer to their God/god, but then there's their differences. One of which include the sizes of the buildings themselves. The Hindu Temple being smaller in size that only allowed for a few people at a time to come worship in comparison to the size of the Medieval Cathedral that is much larger and could accommodate for 100's of people at a time.

As for the 2nd part of the homework, I chose the "rainbow flag", which nowadays IS a vulgar thing. I mean sure, they say it represents "peace, love, equality and acceptance." But to or of whom? And why MUST it so forcefully be accepted by everyone worldwide? Why is it that if we don't accept to whom it stands for, it's an immediate "hate crime" that is punishable by fines, jail and most likely death (soon enough)? Because as I see it, according to the Bible it WAS something once sacred, that God Himself used as a sign in the stopping of the rain and flood waters that covered the whole earth when He killed everyone in judging them for their sins. It was suppose to be a sign as a covenant between Himself and man that never again would He ever destroy mankind by the Flood. But what has mankind done with it?
