1) Intro: Consumerism is the fuel for the first-world’s economic rocket, propelling nations like Germany out of an economically-bearish state. Increases in GDP, small business growth, and a nation’s global reign can all be effectively linked back to that nation’s attitude of consumerism, displaying the positive effect it leaves. Therefore, a large group gathering to object the very attitude that they prospered from is counterintuitive to the participant’s goals to prevent a consumerism-based economic crash like the one seen in October of 1929.

- Evidence: Consumerism fuels the economy as seen with the historic increase in inflation to pump money into the economy so people buy things during a recession (March for example).

The Government’s economic goal is to put money into citizen’s pockets so that they are always able to buy optional products.

Consumer-discretion is one of the most lucrative industries in the stock market.

- Concession: Stock market crash due to overspending and credit of October 1929

- Rebuttal: Stock market speculation, war costs, and a rise in inflation were other contributing factors, so consumerism alone won’t harm the economy

Individualism is a corrupt mindset that leaves a nation in ruins, causing a lack of unity and common ground between the people who make up the nation, thus preventing the nation from achieving its shared goals.

- Evidence: The government becomes increasingly inefficient as individuals think about themselves without taking into consideration the ideas of their neighbors.

Nationalism and unity have been the most significant factors contributing to great national achievements, such as defeating rivel empires like the Nazis in WWII.

Individualism leads to corruption as people think about only their well-being.

3)	Intro: Artifice is the reason for the world’s greatest failures, but also its greatest heroes, making it the most essential skill for anyone. Artifice allows people to adapt based on their current situation; it’s the art of insincerity, evolution, adaption, and deception to win the public eye and succeed. Therefore, artifice is the most essential skill to learn to achieve your goals because you can be anyone and make others believe you
-	Evidence: Everyone uses artifice, whether they know it or not; politicians, sales people, and actors are just the face of this characteristic.
Political war leaders, like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao Ze Dong all used artifice to connect with their desperate audience and move them to support their cause, even though, in hindsight, it was a radical one

1) Intro: Running, swimming, golf, tennis, even school are all excellent examples of competition. Athletes, scholars, and other competitors work their hardest to pursue victory over another, and while people may argue that this leads to resentment, it’s impossible to dispute the apparent growth through motivation that occurs due to competition. Competition invites others to perform better than they once thought possible, allowing society as a whole to grow from it with the introduction of new innovations, theories, records, and more.

- Evidence: While some may get lost in the heat of the competition and resent their opponents, society has moved towards a “don’t be a sore loser” mindset to ensure that this characteristic of competition is limited

Competition provides people with the surplus of motivation absolutely required for progress and innovation. For example, the creator of the famous Ferrari company told a customer who experienced difficulties with a Ferrari car that he was just a tractor driver and should not complain about something that is so much better than him (the farmer). In response, due to a competitive drive to show Ferrari that he was more than a farmer, the farmer created his own car company. The name: Lamborghini; Lamborghini cars are now significantly faster than Ferraris, and this all started due to competition.

Although The Buy Nothing day may bring light to over-consumption negatives, it is vastly outweighed by the economic negatives and serves no point. It is absolutely pointless because not buying anything for one day does not fix over-consumption problems. If anything, the day is just putting the economy off track. This could be compared to when the economy during the first Covid-19 shutdown; only negative came out of that situation, so why would we want that again? The Buy Nothing Day negatives can be shown by a lack of economic profit, decreased employee wages, and ultimately not solving the over-consumption problem.

Individuality and nationality should stop being looked at separately but together. People should be free to feel or believe the way they want while also having a passion for their country and success. Sadly, people are often strongly with one side and strongly against the other; however, all this does is create division. Instead, they should be seen as a scale. The key is to have a balance of both and not to weigh on one side too heavily. This balance can be found by loving yourself first, loving your country second, and finally expressing your beliefs to the public.

In today's world, artifice is used everywhere, especially when it comes to politics. Artifice is the main way politicians, news companies, etc., grab citizen's attention and following. For example, artifice is the reason that Trump beat out all the other conservative presidential candidates. He was seen as something new, outrageous, and appealing. Also, he had much more social media hype from his past, which put the other candidates in the dark. Most people believe what they see or hear on tv. This is due to politicians and news companies' ability to display their story/views, whether fake or real, conservative or liberal, so convincing that it traps the citizen into a belief or side.

Competition has been alive since before time. One entity has always wanted and fought to be better than the other. This can be shown through the theory of natural selection by Charles Darwin. He describes it as "survival of the fittest," proving that entities will adapt to their surroundings to thrive or beat out others. Natural selection can even be shown in today's society. For example, a person who strives every day to be better and always looks positive will thrive in life more than a person who has no motivation to be better and is depressed. Kohn believes that competition is always unhealthy. However, this is far from true. Without competition, society would be at a stand-still forever. This stand-still would lead to a lack of motivation, success or failure, and ultimately growth.
