WRITTING SESSION.

In the writing sessions, we wrote about what inspired us, and we had seven questions to answer that came from a book by a well-known director. We also wrote about Grease, our first project. we wrote about things such as:

•actors in the musical

•people that wrote Grease

• facts about Grease

I learnt the the car, Greased lightning, was supposed to be blue!! But the director thought it blends into the sky to much so they changed the colour to red.

PRACTICAL

In the two afternoon practical sessions, we received and reviewed our scripts. These scripts include a few minutes of acting and a few minutes of the song, Greased lightning, this will include a dance.

We had a run through as far as we could have this and I will attach a video of this in due course.

This concludes this day at college, after today I felt good about what is to come.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT.

In PD, we learnt all about voting, and democracy. This included establishing our prior understanding of what a democracy is and how it works. We were taught about labour and conservative parties in the local area and our MP, Steve Darling. We figured out democracy in college life such as the college student council.

PRACTICAL

In the practical session, we learnt how to sing correctly without damaging your voice. We learnt in depth, how to have a healthy throat. This includes:

•Not vaping

•Not smoking

•Proper hydration

•Singing from the tummy and not the throat.

This was taught to us whilst lying on our backs. This is because the practice can make some people feel slightly sick. This type of training is essential to have a good voice and a healthy throat.

DANCE.

In dance, we learnt the start of both musicals. Mamma Mia and Grease. See the video attached for our first full run through of Greased Lightning. I think people not showing up will really set us back in the short amount of time we have, It is essential to be punctual and consistent with attendance. I understand some people can not help it but attendance is my biggest concern.

At the end of the college day, I went home feeling great about my parts and I feel the others in Grease picked it all up nicely. I’m looking forward to working with Scarlet from level 3 to pick up gold advise from someone previously in my position.

Morning theory.

I completed all of my theory on my WIX sight in this session. This was completed by a list that helped me visualise my position on the work. I added pictures to my “industry roles” page of the sight.

PRACTICAL.

With the help of Ryan, we picked small parts of the mini musical and ripped them apart to make them stronger and transform the performance into a loud, strong and powerful musical.

AFTER COLLEGE

After college, I stayed behind to help out at the open evening. My mum was in the car park to pick me up when I kindly asked her to come back later lol. She was very happy I chose to do this and was overjoyed that I wanted to stay behind and enhance the evening.

THINGS IVE LEARNT

I learnt ways to adapt in situations I felt were not going to work. I made it work for me and this looks amazing now the whole team is onboard with it. This was with the dance dice I was absent for some of it. This ended up working very well and I picked it up quickly.

DANCE

In the dance section, we all worked well to make a new dance with the level threes. They worked well but I thought they didn’t listen to the group and did their own thing. We didn’t get much/any input but when we brought this up we were able to give our opinions.

THEORY.

In the theory we did our health and safety roles page and had to make signs of health and safety hazards. We also learnt the diffrent between hazards and other safety concerns.
