 What was the mood of the characters?  - They were concerned at first for Grant, but then the mood changed to panicked and everyone pointed fingers at everyone else except themselves.
How are they reacting?  - They are panicking because they know one of there best friends just killed another one of there best friends.
What are they thinking?  - They were thinking of who killed Grant and how much trouble they would get in.

It was the fall season and the environment was very still and quiet. The narrator (John Michael) noticed that Grant had been shot and his boots were standing upright several feet away. The narrator (John Michael) is the person who shot Grant. There were no other characters other than Grant and the killer of Grant at the time. At first the characters were concerned over Grant, but then got super panicked when they realized he was actually dead.
