Year - 1763

The Proclamation of 1763 was intended to pacify the Indians after the French and Indian War. It was the first of Parliament's laws issued by King George III. This Proclamation kept people from settling west of an imaginary line. And even if you already settled in a place farther west, you were forced to move. This law made settlers very angry because they could not settle down and live where they wanted to.
