The Market Revolution sparked the transcendentalism by releasing different types of technology. Transportation and communication were what enabled the economic shift. The Market Revolution was about industrializing and creating new forms of technology. They now had steamboats, railroads, and the telegraph. Transcendentalist didn't believe in technology; they trusted in their intuition and had love for nature around them. Their main goal was to stay consistent with their independence.

Romanticism doesn’t heavily focus and emphasize the power of God as a worshiper. Romanticism focuses on inner beauty and nature as a way to live. Romanticist trust in whats around them and not so much in the one true god.
Transcendentalism strongly believes in God, divination, and the truth of miracles. The faith in them is also with nature, but the tie in God in their faith as well.

- Thoreau shows in his writing numerous examples of transcendentalism because he is sharing how he was never intelligent. Then he comes to learn that he doesn't need intelligence to be wise and happy. He is surrounded by pure nature and imagination and learns he is intelligent in his own way.

Thoreau claims that no matter how bad the sins of the people going to church and attending mass, the church will still go on. He states that the fire can burn but the bells will not stop and will still continue to ring. It's a comparison to the bells being life, and no matter what goes on you must continue to live your life the way you'd like. Even though all the bad and evil occur in the world, people are going to continuously worship God, and go to church. When church bell rings, it means that the church is opening and preaching.

Thoreau seemed to find human company incapable of stimulating him to such a feeling of wholeness. Hence, it was judged inferior to nature. The challenge received from a solitary relationship with nature is described with metaphors of renewal. When the narrator states that he is no more lonely than Walden Pond, shows a new way of expressing Walden. The pond is later developed as a metaphor for the narrator's purified and perfected soul.

The song Survivor by Destiny's Child relates to Walden by Thoreau by it's strong response to being independence and self-reliant. Them being an all girl group shows there fierce message to freethinking. Destiny's Child shows the message that you don't need anyone to make you happy. Walden shows in his writing that he is one person and does not need anyone around him to depend on as long as he has nature. He uses his passion for nature as an escape from the outside world. He sees nature as the place he can fully have trust in and faith.
