It became the Capital of the empire in 1066, It became a centre of culture and arts during Tudor's Age, during Tudor's Age many theatres was built by Inigo Jones, for example Baqueting house and Queen's House, London was rebuilt in Stone in 1666 After the great Fire under the direction of Sir Cristopher Wren Who designed St Pauls cathedral and over 50 other churces.
Most of current London is from the Victorian period. Up until the early years of the nineteenth century, the capital was confined to the boundaries of the original Roman city, as well as Westminster and Mayfair, and was surrounded by fields. Be that as it may, the Industrial Revolution drew millions of people to London, expanding the city.
