Do I Like It: I used to hate it when I was little, but now I don't mind it.

Race is a big part of my identity because I always got bullied for it in public school. I embrace who I am every. single. day. and to be shamed for it, sucks. Always remember to BE YOUSELF, and don't care what others think.

The words in the first line, "Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood" relate to me because of my experiences in life. Life was really rough growing up, I was mistreated by a family member, always moving around to different towns, and when I would act out because I didn't know how to express what I was feeling, I was misunderstood.

"Miss knowing it's all good, it didn't slow me down" is the meaning of how I when I was treated badly, by friends and family, I'd always forgive them, and act as if they had never hurt me.

"Mistaken, always second guessing, underestimated" I always questioned myself about why I would do certain things. And I'd always underestimate myself. I still have that habit today.

"Look, I'm still around." I wanted to give up so many times, but fought for myself in the long run, and for my family.
