Trifles play takes place in a farm house kitchen , this reminds me of the opening scene, however I more thought of it in black and white. The town Sheriff and County Attorney meeting at the farm to go over clues for motive to who killed John Wright.

This may come off as a weird picture but since this story is about a woman possibly killing her husband because he killed her bird , it seems fitting. From the bird in a cage to a woman behind bars or in a cage.

This is the Woolworth Building referenced in Langston Hughes poem "Negro". It is interesting to think that slaves were in part responsible for this.

If We Must Die

This is a burial ground discovered by elementary kids in Hunts Point. It makes me sad to think that thousands of slaves died with no trace of their life. No grave site for the family to visit.

Brownies

This picture is from the black panthers brownie troop in Oakland who focuses on social justice and racism. However they just so happen to be teaching racism just like the story Brownies. Also the picture looks a bit evil to me with their eyes whited out .

Battle Royal

Pictured at the Jim Crow Museum of a Battle Royal. This story was insulting to read that this was a form of entertainment for white businessman back in the 1900's. Then to top it off as if it wasn't bad enough to electrocute them while on their hands and knees scraping for money, it is disgusting.

The Lesson

In this short story I am not sure what the lesson was except that white rich people could have put their money to much better use. I guess it could be to teach the kids how far a dollar goes and to spend their money wisely

This story reminded me of The Color Purple in many ways. In looking up this picture I noticed that Alice Walker also wrote this book , which is why they are similar. Maggie reminds me of Celie and Dee as Shug.

I think this fits with the story because Linda is always talking about how tired Willy is and he just needs a break. I think his soul is tired and nothing would change if he got more rest.
