When I was reading I really empathize with August the main character when he had to go to school for the first time. Even though I have never been put in that type of situation I still felt what August was feeling.

The time I empathized for August the most was when his dog Daisy died. Daisy was the one that August would go to when he was really sad. When Daisy died I felt sad for August. Also because I have been put in one of those situations. 

The book Wonder is mainly a window for me because I am learning what it is like to be thrown in a situation that you are not ready for and how you can handle it. Also I am learning how bad it feels to get bullied or picked on about something you can’t control.

One example for it being a mirror is when August's dog dies. Daisy (August's dog) was who August always went to when he is sad or upset which is often because he doesn't look like everybody else. This part is mostly true for me to because I usually go to my dog when I am sad or upset. One example the book Wonder is a window for me is because August has to go to a real school for the first time ever. For August's whole life he has been homeschooled by his mom because because she doesn't want him to be made fun of or bullied when he goes to school because he doesn't look like everybody else. My last example why the book Wonder is a window is because when August goes to school he gets bullied and made fun of by a kid named Julian. The reason it is a window for me is because I have never gotten bullied or made fun of before.
