A way that I have used active learning is when I was played in the band. When you play you have to actively be listening to everyone around you. You have to adjust your sound or air pressure or pitch until you get in tune with everyone around you.
A way that I used active learning this past week was when I was playing a new game with my sister. The entire time I had no clue what I was doing but as time went on and I was actively engaging in the game and watching her play I got a lot better at it.

A way to explain this is how kids will look at things and be curious about them. When I was younger I would look at the moon/sun while in a car and assume that it was following my car. Through asking questions and reading I learned that that was far from the truth.
Another example from this past week would be how my Spanish teachers would speak really fast in Spanish. I wouldn't know some of the words they'd said so after class, I would look them up. Now I have a better understanding of the lesson and have built up my vocabulary a bit more.

An example of this from me is when I worked retail. We would separate large batches of stock or put backs and work together to get it put away faster than just one person doing it all. Teamwork in a formal work setting is super important to building team environment skills.
An example from this past week would be where I had to work together with my sister to clean out her car before she leaves for Montana. We worked much faster together rather than her doing it by herself.

An example of this is when I was learning about cells or anything in biology. They would show us diagrams removed from the reality of cells and other things to explain how they are made up even if it isn't how it really looks.
Another way is how they would give us math problems to show us how to do the math but not how to use them in real-life situations.

An example of this is when I would intentionally practice a piece of music to get into an honor band or practice a routine to get on the color guard team in high school.
An experience I had this past week was when I was practicing my presentation for my Spanish conversation class with the intention of getting better and doing well in front of the class.
