The Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) is an American nonprofit organization founded in 2012 by singer Rihanna, to benefit impoverished communities across the globe, with healthcare, and education, among other various programs.

 We work to allleviate the distress caused by poverty by giving scholarships and organizing balls to raise money.

In September 2016, the Clara Lionel Foundation has partnered up with Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen on a multi-year initiative to improve education across the world.

About us

 

We are an association of doctors and health sector workers that have the main duty to helps populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict.

Our principles 

Medical ethics 

MSF’s actions are first and foremost medical. We treat our patients with dignity, and with respect for their cultural and religious beliefs. In accordance with these principles, MSF endeavours to provide high-quality medical care to all patients.

Impartiality and neutrality 

MSF offers priority to those in the most serious and immediate danger. 

Operational structure 

The associations are attached to five operational directorates, which manage MSF’s humanitarian assistance programmes. Other units, including supply centres and medical units, also support our activities.

MSF offices, units, directorates and associations interconnect and work together in various ways, and are formally bound as one movement by a shared name, a shared commitment to the MSF charter and principles, and shared membership of MSF International. 

Where the money come from? 

92 per cent of our income comes from some 5.7 million private donors. It is thanks to the generosity of our private supporters – mainly individuals, but also companies and private foundations – that MSF is able to operate independently, and provide impartial humanitarian assistance in some of the world’s most insecure environments.

The remaining 8 per cent comes from public institutions, mainly the EU and its member, and other income.
