Like to be able to focus on what instruction is given or something new they learned only once.

When students are taught new things they process it in the short-term memory to remember for a short amount of time, then they'll either delete it or store it longer. If they are taught over and over then they can process it into the long-term memory

It is similiar to short-term memory but it deals with the senses. When use our sense to learn then we use that sense as a memory point. It can also be a memory point for long term memory.

ex. if we smell something familiar then it trigger a memory relate to that smell

It mainly deals with touch and see but other senses can be used.

Sensory memory can be used with babies because they rely on their senses to learn about their surrounding,

It has its imprtants in the classroom because when we us show children things either on the board or on a paper they use their memory to remember it.

Another thing is if the students touch something as they are learning them they can use that to remember what they learn and they feeling that went with it.

The use of reading or sounding out letters.

Rentention

"Human memory processes can be classified as the ability of the mind to

understand, retain, and successfully recall information" (Amin & Malik, 2014)

This is related to learning because students learn new things constantly and sometimes the need help to retain it and the best way would be to go over it over and over then they start retaining thatt information.

Once retain the information then they are about to recall it when needed for future use especially on testing.

Transfer

When using past learning to a new learning strategy.

When students have learn about something then they have it stored but when they add a new learning strategy to ithe existing memory.

As teacher this something we need to learn because when we were in school we learned a different way but now we need to learn a new way of teching a subject,

Ex. Problem solving was done different as now and we need to transfer our old way of learnig to the new way of learning math.

Trauma can affect the brain by blocking out memories that have negative effect on the children.

Studies showed that children who dont remember much about the trauma they experienced had servere PTSD. (Pacheco & Scheeringa, 2021)

When children are unable to recall the traumatic memory then they are unable to discuss it and it causes mermories to the blocked and anything can set off the trauma memory.

When trauma happens the the memory starts to forget information that is impartant.

Ex: When older people start to experience Alzheimer then they start to forget simple things they learned as children.

To help improve memory it is important to always go over the subject multiple times.

Use mnemocics, get sleep, eat healthy food, and keep childrens interested in subject.

if children are facing trauma, remind them they can ask for additional aide if need or have a one on one review with them. Don't rush them and go at their pace.

Use sensory item that they can relate to the subject they are try to learn and remember.

Having silent and not disruptive hands on item can help keep their hands activite as they listen and watch the lesson being learned.

They then can recall the information using their sensory memory.

As for trauma, some sensory may recall negative memory, so having them talk about the issue or even having them pick something else could help. Also helping them retain new memory could be helpful.

Meditation

This can help children and techers improve thei memory or emotions.

Doing this a few times a week can improve memory and help to improve long term memory.

When focusing on breathing children are able to release negative emotion and be able to focus on what is needed.

this could be helpful for trauma because it help them to help control the effect it has on them or help their brain retain new memory they are gaining.
