**Example Topic: Nuclear Energy**

Nuclear Energy is more harmful than it is helpful due to the risks that nuclear plants pose to living civilization and the environment that surrounds it. According to Procon.org, "One of the biggest issues is environmental impact in relation to uranium. The process of mining and refining uranium hasn’t been a clean process. Actually transporting nuclear fuel to and from plants represents a pollution hazard." Uranium, after it's been mined, cannot simply be disposed of because of its radioactive properties. There is not a safe way to completely get rid of uranium, which poses many problems for the environment. Also, not all companies are regulated due to state and federal laws. So, we must ask ourselves, where is this radioactive material going once it's been used and disposed of?

Another negative con to nuclear energy is the harmful effects to human civilizations when a nuclear explosion occurs. One example is "The Chernobyl accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine was the worst nuclear accident in the history. Its harmful effects on humans and ecology can still be seen today. Then there was another accident that happened in Fukushima in Japan" (www.conserve-energy-future.com/pros-and-cons-of-nuclear-energy.php). As the evidence suggests, many people lost their lives or experienced extreme illness and future babies experienced birth defects due to these explosions. Although nuclear energy is a great renewable energy resource, it is simply not worth the risk of the loss of environmental and human life.

As Some people believe that they were born to like the same sex or the oppisite and some people believe that the sexuality of anyone is learned or adapted. There has been no finding of a gene that makes someone homosexual but SOme people will tell you themselves that they knew what they liked all their life or since birthed.... i dont agree nor disagree.

I disagree because there is no scientific evidence that has established a genetic cause for homosexuality or found a "gay gene". Sexual Orientation is a matter of self-affirmation and public declaration. "Gay is a self chosen identity".
Epidemiological studies show a modest association between genetic factors and sexual attractions or behaviors, but it does not provide significant evidence pointing to a particular genes that automacially tells you that you are gay.

I don't believe your sexual orientation is determined at birth because you don't really understand at all period what is going on, so how could you tell if you would like females or men. Another reason i disagree because you yourself decide if you have a sexual preference for your same sex or the opposite. I believe that society does have a lot to do with determining your preference but only you yourself can determine this and a lot of younger people decide their sexual preference by trying "New Things". I don't believe in having a sexual orientation at birth because of these two things. On the other hand i do see why people would agree because a lot of people let their parents chose their sexual parents or tell them what to do so in a way your sexual orientation could be determined but it wouldn't be determined by yourself. Evidence does state that "There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation" also it does state that "Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor of factors. So i could see my side and the pro's side

Cleophus pickett, Genes can’t control behavior completely. Genes regulate the production of amino acids, which combine to form proteins. The existence or absence of a protein can have an effect on things like alcohol tolerance or mood.so if there were a gay gene it wouldn't have complete control over a person, it would influence their thinking, but even though, i don't believe there is a gay gene. I believe that being gay is a choice being influenced by how you grew up.
