Fashion has always been a part of the human experience, even as far back as the 11th century. Without fashion, many would be unable to express themselves and express their own individual identity Fashion in this case, jewelry is in the form of earrings. In this exhibit, walk through the runway of time and explore earrings that the ancient Iranian and Egyptian wore, you may even find that they don't look too different from current-day earrings.

#1 "Earrings"
This piece from the first half of the 11th century is a pair of beautiful gold earrings with exquisite detail, even showing a beautiful small moon in the middle. The artist is unknown but is thought to be attributed to ancient Iran.

#2 "Earring"
This next earring is also from the 11th century but made with a fascinating material of electrum, and attributed to ancient Egypt. Much like the first piece, the detail in this singular ancient earring is fantastic. With beautiful swirls and different depths, the electrum was sculpted to form something truly beautiful.

#3 "Earring"
The last earring shown in this exhibit is a singular gold earring from the first half of the 11th century and is attributed to ancient Iran. It may not have the same flash as the first two, but the detail was definitely in mind when this earring was formed with the detailing of extra smaller hoops on the outside. All the earrings seem to have been hoop earrings that dangled from the ears.
