It appears documented on 898 as the farmhouse ”El Carner”. It's name “Granera” appeared on 958. Pascual Madoz speaks about Granera briefly on his Geographical Dictionary , written on 1845. Refers saying that is located in a mountain area with a great ventilation and healthy climate. It had 40 houses. The land, though much broken, had a great quality. They produced wheat, vegetables and wine and had some cattle and hunting. He had 37 residents (heads of households) and 163 souls (people). The “Geography of Catalonia”, led by General Francisco Carreras Candi and published in 1910, Cels Gomis, the one that wrote the volume dedicated to the province of Barcelona, gives a section to Granera in the judicial district that includes Manresa, which belong to 1910.
